We entered our second full week back from Christmas break today. I am pleasantly surprised by how quickly the students got back into the groove of things. Sometimes it takes three to four weeks for students to get going. We have already completed a cell project on the iPads and had our first quiz. We have continued our rain barrel project in seventh grade which promises to be a great learning experience for all.
I was fully energized and ready to get back. I think it had a lot to do with how break fell this year. We, my family and I, had all our busy Christmas travel plans done within the first four days of break. The rest of the time was spent relaxing and spending time at home. It was a great break. I have not, and will not, start counting down the days until the last day of school. I love what I do and am most happy when I am doing it!
By the way, the picture is of my new skeleton in my room (Sheldon the Skeleton as named by the 8th grade students).
